Distribution. Tinodes algiricus is an Ibero-Maghrebian species ( Neu et al. 2018). The subspecies T. algiricus algiricus is distributed in the Maghreb ( Tobias & Tobias 2008). It has been recorded in Algeria by McLachlan (1880) and Vaillant (1954), in Tunisia by Malicky & Lounaci (1987), and in Morocco by Dakki (1982) and Hajji et al. (2013). Vaillant (1954) reported that the species was common for Algeria, but since that time, it has been collected only in this research. The male was collected at altitudes of 723–854 m a.s.l.
