SYNONYM(S): Mentaxya comorana Viette, 1960 ; Lycophotia ignetincta Hampson, 1918a ; Mentaxya trisellatoides Laporte, 1973a .

DISTRIBUTION: Angola, Cameroon, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Republic of Congo, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: ‘Lusaka’, in Lusaka Province.

LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Larval foodplants include potato, Solanum tuberosum L. (Solanaceae) , Eragrostis tef (Zuccagni) Trotter (Poaceae) .
