COMMON NAME (S): Eggar, Snout moth (although this also refers to the Pyralidae ) or Lappet moth.
SYNONYM(S): Philotherma testaceicornis Strand, 1912e .
IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE).
DISTRIBUTION: Cameroon, Central African Republic, Ethiopia, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Togo, Uganda, Zambia.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Lusaka and Kafue, in Lusaka Province.
LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Host plants include Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam. ( Convolvulaceae ) and Shirakiopsis elliptica (Hochst.)
Esser ( Euphorbiaceae ).
