DISTRIBUTION: Angola, Cameroon, Cabo Verde, Central African Republic, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Fiji, France, Gambia, India, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Nigeria, Republic of Congo, Réunion, S„o Tomé and Príncipe, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Somalia, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda,
Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Serenje, in Central Province; Lusaka, in Lusaka Province. LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): The following larval foodplants are reported for the taxon for the Réunion; Ricinus communis L. ( Euphorbiaceae ), Mangifera indica L. ( Anacardiaceae ), Rosa sp. (Rosaceae) , Crotalaria verrucosa L.
( Fabaceae ), Tamarindus indica L. ( Fabaceae ) and Searsia longipes (Engl.) Moffett (Anacardiaceae) .
Reported from elsewhere in Africa are the host plants Coffea arabica L. , Myrica serrata Lam. , Schinus mole L. and Zea mays L. Though no specific host plants have been reported for the taxon for Zambia,
most of these host plants are also found in Zambia and very likely are larval foodplants for the taxon in the country. The African Moths (2019) lists the following as larval foodplants of the taxon: one
Euphorbiaceae species, Ricinus communis L.; two Anacardiaceae species, Mangifera indica L. and
Schinus mole L. ; one yet to be identified Rosaceae species, Rosa sp. ; one Fabaceae species, Crotalaria verrucosa L.; one Rubiaceae species, Coffea arabica L. ; one Myricaceae species, Myrica serrata Lam.
and one Poaceae species, Zea mays L.
