COMMON NAME (S): Indecorous Eggar. SYNONYM(S): Eriogaster incompta Walker, 1855d View in CoL ; Lasiocampa indecora Walker, 1865b View in CoL .
IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE).
DISTRIBUTION: Côte d’Ivoire, Eswatini, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia , Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: ‘Lusaka’, in Lusaka Province. LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): In South Africa, Pentzia incana (Thunb.) Kuntze (Asteraceae) is indicated as the host plant of this taxon. Elsewhere in Africa , the taxon is hosted by the following plant species: Eriosema sp. , Albizia sp. and
Cajanus cajan from the family Fabaceae ; Microglossa sp. , Laggera sp. and Vernonia amygdalina
Delile from the family Asteraceae ; and Protea sp. (Proteaceae) , Coffea sp. (Rubiaceae) , Gossypium
sp. ( Malvaceae ), Cupressus macnabiana A.Murray bis ( Cupressaceae ), Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam.
( Convolvulaceae ), Justicia sp. (Acanthaceae) and Pinus radiata D.Don (Pinaceae) . No host plants of the taxon are known in Zambia.
