COMMON NAME (S): Silvered Brown Veneer.
SYNONYM(S): Crambus hapaliscus Zeller, 1852 ; Crambus concinellus Walker, 1863 .

DISTRIBUTION: Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Crete, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eswatini, Ethiopia, France, Greece, Italy, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia , Portugal, Réunion, Russia, Rwanda, Sardinia, Sicily, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Spain, Tanzania, Turkey, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Lusaka , in Lusaka Province; Chisamba, in Central Province ; Livingstone, in Southern Province .
LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): The larvae of the taxon, feed on grasses ( Poaceae ) and have also often been reported to feed on maize plant crop ( Zea mays L. ) also in the grass family Poaceae , causing severe damage.
