Ovary trivalved, obovoid-globose, smooth, greenish, base constricted into a short stipe 0.5‒1 mm long, with concave nectaries covered by hoodlike projections at base; ovules two per locule. Style simple, 5‒6 mm long, exserted; stigma entire. Capsule obovoid, 5‒7 × 6‒9 mm. Seeds dark brown, subovoid-flattened, 3‒4 × 4‒5 mm, testa with densely cellular periclinal walls.
Distribution and habitat: The new species is only known from Tianmu Mountian of Linan County, northwestern Zhejiang ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 ). It grows under the deciduous broad-leaved forests at the elevation of 1000‒1500 m.
Phenology: Flowering from September to October, fruiting from October to November.
Etymology: The specific epithet ‘ tianmuense ’ refers to the type locality of the new species.
Similar species: The new species is closely related to A. thunbergii and A. chinense . It is mainly distinguished from them by its flat leaves, 3‒9.5 mm wide, withered in spring and umbel bearing bulblets. The distinguishing characteristics of the new species and the two relatives are listed in detail in Table 1 View TABLE 1 .
