Material examined. Indonesia: Maluku, Halmahera, Halmahera , (1°49'21.23''N, 127°46'48.65''E), 1.i.– 31.xii.1894, leg. W. Kükenthal— 1 female (holotype) (Frankfurt SMF) GoogleMaps .
Description. Small to medium sized species. Head: Face ovoid; forehead surface nearly smooth; fastigium verticis about as wide as scapus; ocelli visible but little distinct; fastigium frontis clearly separated from fastigium verticis by a transverse furrow; subocular furrows present but not strong.
Wings almost covering abdomen ( Fig. 36D View FIGURE 36 ). Tegmen: Radius with two branches, both forked near tip; media anterior free from base but temporarily touching CuA, forked behind basal third into two veins: MA and MP; cubitus anterior and cubitus posterior both single branched, free throughout; with 3–4 anal veins.
Legs: Hind tibia with a pair of very long and curved spines in subbasal area of dorsal margins ( Fig. 36D View FIGURE 36 arrow), afterwards with only one or two normal spines; ventral margins with one subapical spine; with three apical spurs at each side.
Coloration. General color uniformly yellowish brown. Face uniformly yellowish brown. Tegmen semitransparent yellowish; hind wing semi-transparent.
Male unknown.
Female. Seventh abdominal sternite on both sides very short, in middle convexly expanded and along midline little elevated; on dorsal side sternite with a knob-like protuberance covering very base of subgenital plate. Subgenital plate prolonged but fissured in midline with fissure widening from base towards apex, widest at about beginning of apical quarter ( Fig. 36F View FIGURE 36 ). Base of ovipositor in set specimen ventrally free, not covered from subgenital plate. Ovipositor long, moderately upcurved throughout; tip subacute.
Measurements from Brunner (1898) (1 female).—body w/o wings: 27; pronotum: 5; tegmen: 19; hind femur: 13.5; ovipositor: 18 mm.
