Genus Althepus Thorell, 1898
Type species. Althepus pictus Thorell, 1898
Diagnosis. The genus Althepus belongs to the Psilodercinae and can be distinguished from other Psilodercinae genera by the combination of following characters: cheliceral promargin with 1–2 teeh, followed by a lamina, retromargin with 1–2 small teeth; carapace rounded; tarsus of male palp with lateral protrusion bearing a anceolate apophysis, short bulb with embolus and conductor widely separated ( Deeleman-Reinhold 1995).
