Type locality: surroundings of Copenhagen , Denmark (55º40’ N, 12º33’ E). No known repository for the material GoogleMaps .
In Venezuela: at the following locality according to Bold (1964): ARAGUA and CARABOBO states—no details of location, Lago de Valencia (GN 10º10’46” N, 67º43’52” W) GoogleMaps .
Remarks: the species has a cosmopolitan distribution ( Meisch et al. 2019). Its geographical distribution in the Neotropics includes Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay, the Caribbean Islands, and Venezuela ( Martens & Behen 1994). The record for Venezuela comes from material recovered from recent sediments ( Bold 1964). Broodbakker (1983d) records C. aff. vidua as an accompanying fauna of Pseudocandona geratsi .
