DESCRIPTION:

Male

Measurements ♂: length: 11–12 mm, width: 6–6.5 mm.

Body: Laterally convex, bent; overall chocolate-brown except clypeus, lateral margins of pronotum and two short patches on disc of elytra yellowish; strongly shining with strong greenish metallic reflections.

Head: clypeus trapezoidal and totally reflexed with irregular punctures, almost coalescent, vertex less punctate between eyes, punctures moderately small, round and separate; frons less punctate. Antennae with 9 antennomeres, with club longer than funicle.

Thorax: pronotum rectangular, wider than long; sides slightly angular in middle; all margins carinate; anterior angles projecting and reaching posterior margin of eyes; with moderately deep rounded separated punctures; scutellar shield semicircular, with small isolated shallow punctures.

Elytra: longer than wide; epipleura complete; regularly striate-sulcate; primary costae more convex than intervals; intervals microreticulate, first and 2 nd with complete secondary striae; striae with close horseshoe-shaped punctures; margins along apex coarsely punctate, rugose; humeral calli slightly marked, apical calli well marked.

Pygidium: triangular, apex rounded, carinate along anal plate, tumid, slightly projecting postero-ventrally and not surpassing apex of elytra; reticulate striolation which is arranged concentrically around the tumidity.

Venter: upper part of metaventrite with close horseshoe-shaped punctures, median part with small isolated rounded punctures; 2 nd to 5 th abdominal ventrites with transversal deep cressent-shaped punctures, 6 th with imbricate puncture.

Legs: protibiae bidentate, larger claw short, ventrally strongly sinuate, shorter than last tarsomere; pro-and mesostarsal larger claw cleft; larger claw of metatarsus slightly longer than smaller one and uncleft.

Hairs: dorsal side with isolated yellowish setae on antennae, on lateral margins of pronotum and on inner part of legs; underside with sparse decumbent short yellowish setae on sides of metaventrite; short erected isolated yellowish setae on coxae, on legs and along carinate of anal

plate; close and longer on anterior and posterior margins of prosternum; abdominal ventrites glabrous.

Aedeagus: in lateral view, parameres rather short and ventrally rounded; in dorsal view, triangular, separated from middle part to apex.

Female

Measurements ♀: length: 13 mm, width: 7 mm.

Differs from ♂ by: clearer colored, yellowish with a slight golden metallic reflection but those specimen could be teneral; larger, laterally more convex and abdomen convex; club of antennae shorter; pygidium projecting postero-ventrally, surpassing apex of elytra; protibiae narrower with apical tooth rounded and longer.

DISTRIBUTION. Known from Democratic Republic of Congo.

BIOLOGY. The species was collected from December to the beginning of April.
