Type Locality: Japan, Ryukyu Isls, Sakishima Isls, Ishigaki Isl.

Vernacular Names: Lesser Leaf-nosed Bat.

Distribution: Peninsular Thailand and Vietnam; Ryukyu Isls ( Japan).

Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Endangered.

Discussion: armiger species group. Distinct from armiger ; see Hill (1963 b), Yoshiyuki (1989), and Hendrichsen et al. (2001 b). Includes alongensis, see Topál (1993).
