Stigmaeopsis nanjingensis (Ma & Yuan, 1980) View in CoL
This species is a new record for the Portuguese tetranychid fauna. It was detected in public gardens on Phyllostachys nigra in Lisbon, and on Phyllostachys sp. in Oeiras and Viseu
( Table 2), suggesting a widespread national distribution on its bamboo hosts, which are popular ornamental plants in private and public gardens. Populations were abundant and protected by a dense web nest on the under surface of the leaves, causing conspicuous whitish-yellow spots on the upper side of leaves and negatively affecting the aesthetic value of the plants.
