Haliplus (Liaphus) connexus Matheson, 1912
Haliplus connexus is a common and widely distributed species in both New Brunswick and on mainland Nova Scotia (Fig. 2). It was recorded from both provinces by Roughley (1991) and from Nova Scotia by Matheson (1912) and Wallis (1933). It has not been reported from Cape Breton Island. In Atlantic Canada there are records from small streams, eutrophic ponds, river margins, slow streams, and temporary ponds.
