Figs. 30–35

Holotype description. Length 21 mm, width 10 mm. Body elongate ovoid, uniformally dull dark reddish brown. Dorsum covered with evenly distributed, nearly uniformally sized, recumbent, circular to ovoid, and nonoverlapping scales. Clypeus weakly convex apically and with weakly but distinct median cleft. Clypeus nearly as long as labrum mesally, nearly straight or vertical laterally, and weakly indented mesally. Mentum with anterior margin strongly convex; posterior half with deep median groove or depression, median carina smooth. Antennal club length 2.1–2.3 mm, distinctly longer than antenomeres II–VII ( Fig. 30), laterally concave or boat-shaped and nearly as wide as clypeus. Pronotum anterior and posterior angle obtuse. Lateral margins weakly to strongly carinate. Anterior and posterior margin smooth. Protibial spur distinctly short and not extending in front of the anterior angle or sinuation ( Fig. 31). Metaventral process length 1.1 mm. Posterior metatibial with 17–19 spicules. Abdominal sternites covered with ovoid to ovoid-lanceolate, non-overlapping scales. Pygidium covered apically and basally with blunt, spindle-shaped scales.

Male. Genitalia length 7 mm. Phallobase dorsal anterior margin nearly straight ( Fig. 32). Paramere ventral inner margin spindle shaped, narrow towards apex, with thick apical processes. Mid-posterior margin triangulate, apically tapered, posterior junction narrower ( Fig. 33). Dorsal mid-posterior margin bell-shaped and sloping downward towards the lateral angles. ( Fig. 34).

Variation. Length 21–22.5 mm, width 10–11 mm.

Specimens examined. Holotype male: MINDANAO: Sulu : Basilan Isand, 28-iii-1963, O. Grino . Paratype: 1♂, Basilan Island, 28-iii-1963, O. Grino. The holotype and paratype are deposited at UPLB .

Distribution. Philippines (Mindanao)

Etymology. This new species is named and honorably dedicated to Don Pedro Guevara. He was also a monumental figure to the approval of the Tydings-McDuffie Law and a delegate in the Constitutional Convention of 1934, which framed the 1935 Philippine Constitution.

Remarks. Externally similar to L. bakeri but can be distinguished by the body being more elongate than ovate, the male antennal club being distinctly longer and boat-shaped, and the phallobase being shorter than the parameres ( Fig. 35).
