Original locality.
Greece: vicinity of Skala.
Remarks.
Verity (1938) proposed this name as "nom. nov." of S. orbifer tesselloides ( Herrich-Schäffer, 1845), therefore, as stated by article 45.6.1 it is deemed to be an infrasubspecific name (the author expressly gave it infrasubspecific rank) and is hence unavailable. Spialia orbifer tesselloides is currently regarded as a junior subjective synonym of the nominate subspecies.
