Type locality. Mauna Kapu, Waianae Mountains, Oahu , Hawaii.

Material examined. Holotype and two paratypes on slides, Oahu: Mauna Kapu: Waianae Mouatains, 20.x.1966, Howarth leg. (# 4797). Deposited in CARC.

Additions to original description. Dorsal cephalic chaetotaxy with 3(4) sutural mac. Lateral process of labial palp as thick as normal chaetae, with tip beyond apex of labial papilla. Labial chaetae as mrel1l2, all smooth; chaetae X and X4 tiny; chaetae X2 and X3 absent ( Fig. 59 ). Abd.III with 1 (m3) central and 2 (am6, pm6) lateral mac. Abd.IV with 4 (I, M, A6, B5) central and 4 (F1, E2–4) lateral mac ( Fig. 60 ).

Ecology. In litter.

Distribution. Oahu, Hawaii, Maui, Lanai.

Remarks. This species is closest to another Hawaiian species C. kukae , but can be distinguished by pointed tenent hairs, 3+3 medio-medial mac on Th.II, 5+5 mac on Abd.I, and 4+4 lateral mac on Abd.IV. It is also similar to C. pani Xu, Yu & Zhang, 2012 and C. guanophila Deharveng, 1990 in the absence of eyes, the claw structure, the presence of manubrial smooth chaetae, the ciliate differentiated tibiotarsal chaetae, the chaetotaxy of Abd.I, II and central Abd.IV. It differs from C. pani in 2+2 lateral mac on Abd.III and 4+4 lateral mac on Abd.IV, and from C. guanophila in 2 (p4, p 4i) mac in Gr. IV on Th.II.
