Figs 52–58 View FIGURES 52 ‒ 58
Sinella (Coecobrya) akiyoshiana Yosii, 1956
Coecobrya akiyoshiana Zhang, Deharveng & Chen, 2009
Type locality. Taisho-Do, Akiyoshi , KreisYamaguti, Japan.
Material examined. Two specimens on slides provided by Yoshii. Deposited in CARC.
Additions to original description. Dorsal cephalic chaetotaxy with 4 antennal (An), 4 median (M), and 5 sutural (S). Labial chaetae as mrel1l2, all smooth; chaeta r 0.55 length of chaeta m ( Fig. 52 View FIGURES 52 ‒ 58 ). Tenent hairs short and pointed; most distal “smooth” inner seta on tibiotarsus III weakly ciliate ( Fig. 53 View FIGURES 52 ‒ 58 ). Manubrial plaque with 2 pseudopores and 3 ciliate chaetae ( Fig. 54 View FIGURES 52 ‒ 58 ). Distal smooth part of dens 0.67–0.80 times as long as mucro ( Fig. 55 View FIGURES 52 ‒ 58 ).
Th.II with 3 (m1, m2, m 2i) medio-medial, 2 (m4, m4p) medio-lateral, and 18 mac; p4 and p 4i as mac. Th.III with 17–21 central mac and 3 (m5, a6, a 6i) mac in Gr. III ( Fig. 56 View FIGURES 52 ‒ 58 ). Abd.I with 5(4) (m2–4, m 2i, m4p) mac; mac m4p sometimes absent. Abd.II with 3 (m3, m3e, m3ep) central and 1 (m5) lateral mac. Abd.III with 1 (m3) central and 3 (am6, pm6, p6) lateral mac ( Fig. 57 View FIGURES 52 ‒ 58 ). Abd.IV with 5 (I, M, A5, A6, B5) central and 4 (F1, E2–4) lateral mac ( Fig. 58 View FIGURES 52 ‒ 58 ).
Ecology. Known only from caves.
Distribution. Japan.
Remarks. C.akiyoshiana is closest to another Japanese cave species C. spinidentata Yosii, 1942 , but differs from the latter in the unguis (elongate in the former and not elongate in the latter). Detailed chaetotaxy presented here is almost identical with C. spinidentata with chaetotaxy of Abd.IV unknown in the latter. C. akiyoshiana is also similar to C. ishikawai Yosii, 1956 , but can be separated by the unpaired inner tooth on unguis (absent in C. ishikawai ).
