Type locality. Ohtani Mine , Kiura, Oita Pref., Japan.
Material examined. Two paratypes on slides provided by Yoshii, Japan: Oita Pref.: Kiura : Ohtani Mine. Deposited in CARC.
Additions to original description. Lateral process of labial palp as thick as normal chaetae, with tip beyond apex of labial papilla. Labial chaetae as mrel1l2, all smooth; chaeta r 0.62–0.64 length of m. Distal smooth part of dens 0.80–1.00 times as long as mucro ( Fig. 78 View FIGURES 78 – 80 ). Th.III with 19–20 central mac; lateral part not clearly seen ( Fig. 79 View FIGURES 78 – 80 ). Abd.IV with 4 (I, A6, B5, M) central and 5 (F1, E2–4, E2p) lateral mac ( Fig. 80 View FIGURES 78 – 80 ).
Ecology. Known only from caves.
Distribution. Japan.
Remarks. This species resembles C. tenebricosa ( Folsom, 1902) in “smooth” tibiotarsal inner chaetae, smooth manubrial chaetae, claw structure, and 4+4 central mac on Abd.IV. It can be separated by the lateral mac on Abd.III/IV (3/ 5 in the former and 2/ 3 in the latter).
