Rhionaeschna peralta (Ris, 1918) View in CoL
Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 a (Habitus ♀), Table 1 (coordinates).
Examined material. 1♀: Laguna del Mosquito, 9.iv.2009, Leg: C. Bota, N. Uribe, C. Flórez & A. Bustamante.
Remarks. This species was assessed as of low concern in the IUCN red list (von Ellenrieder 2009), due to its wide distribution in the high mountain environments of the Puna Plateau, near quieter and shallow sections of streams and adjacent to marshy ponds, and at Lake Titicaca (von Ellenrieder 2003, 2009).
Comparing this specimen with the redescription and illustrations of the species by von Ellenrieder (2003), the following differences were found: S3 middorsal portion and posterolateral spots on S4 – 7 brown ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 a). It will be necessary to collect more specimens, especially a male, to fully confirm this record.
Distribution. Previously recorded from Northern Bolivia and Southern Peru (von Ellenrieder 2003, 2009); now the distribution is extended to the Central Cordillera in the Colombian Andes.
