Type locality: 6.6 mi N Ixtlan de Juarez, 8300’, Oaxaca State, Mexico. Distribution: Mexico: Chiapas, Hidalgo, Jalisco, México, Michoacán, Nuevo León, Oaxaca, Puebla, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Tamaulipas, and Veracruz States.

Note: This species was misidentified as D. aztecus Szymczakowski [1971] in Peck, 1973b: 105 ( Mexico: Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí, and Tamaulipas) ( Peck & Cook, 2016: 86).
