Distribution: Central America.
Biology: Eyeless and flightless, in meliponine bee nests.

Lectotype male (the male illustrated; designated in Peck, 2003a; original description refers to two specimens, sex and depository not given) in BMNH.
Type locality: Cerro Zunil, [Quetzaltenango Department], Guatemala.
Distribution: Costa Rica: Alajuela, Cartago, Guanacaste, Limón, and San José Provinces; Guatemala: Quetzaltenango Department; Mexico: Veracruz State; Panama: Canal Zone and Colón Province.
