Platycleis (Tessellana) veyseli KocËak, 1984 View in CoL
(®gures 79, 82, 85, 88, 91)
Locusta vittata Charpentier, 1825 (Ragge, 1990) ; Platycleis (Tessellana) veyseli KocËak, 1984: 169 .
Type (s): HUNGARY (lost) .
Distribution. South-eastern Europe, southern Russia, north-eastern Turkey, northern Iran, Transcaucasia, Turkestan.
Turkish sound record. Heller (1988, as P. vittata ).
Remarks. Uvarov (1934) (TazeguÈl, 1993) recorded P. vittata from western Anatolia. However, species of the subgenus Tessellana show allopatric distribution and on the base of large material from western Anatolia and the other records of P. veyseli from Turkey, we believe that the old records of Uvarov (1934) and TazeguÈl (1993) refer to P. nigrosignata .
