Type Locality: Brazil, Minas Gerais, 4 km SE Passa Vinte, Fazenda do Bené (22 o 14’S, 44 o 12’W, elev. 680 m) GoogleMaps .
Vernacular Names: Lund's Atlantic Tree-rat.
Distribution: Known only from two localities 200 km apart in southern Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro ( Brazil).
Discussion: One of the smallest species in the genus; possibly related to P. nigrispinus .
