Range: — Bolivia (CO, CH, LP, TA) and Argentina.
Ecology: —Uncommon; humid montane and Tucumano-Bolivian forests; (800–) 1700–2900 m.
Notes: — Phlegmariurus sotae appears to be related to P. taxifolius and, morphologically, may represent a southernhemisphere parallel to P. cuernavacensis (Underw. & F.E. Lloyd) B.Øllg. (Central America).
