Distribution and hosts. Breinlia (B.) robertsi occurs in a number of macropodid species predominantly across the north of Australia in Queensland, the Northern Territory and Western Australia, extending well south to Yalgoo and Menzies only in the latter State. It is surprising that it has been found in only one rock wallaby species, given that many others are sympatric with the species of Macropus which are hosts of this filarioid.

Remarks. This is one of eleven filarioid species occurring in the peritoneal cavity (occasionally pleural cavity) of macropodids and potoroids in Australia and/or New Guinea, including B. (B.) bigenera , B. (B.) beveridgei , B. (B.) boltoni , B. (B.) dendrolagi , B. (B.) dorcopsis , B. (B.) macropi , B. (B.) mundayi , B. (B.) spelaea , B. (B.) thylogale and B. (B.) tricondylus .
