Quesada sodalis ( Walker, 1850) View in CoL
Cicada sodalis Walker 1850: 108 View in CoL . (Unknown locality)
REMARKS. This species can be distinguished from Q. gigas by the infuscation on the proximal and distal radius anterior 2, proximal median vein 1, median crossvein and mediocubital crossvein of the fore wing, the darker coloration and the generally smaller body size.
DISTRIBUTION. The species has only been recorded from Brazil and Peru ( Metcalf 1963a; Duffels & van der Laan 1985; Sanborn 2013). Jacobi (1951) reported the species from Satipo, Peru. This record is questioned since all other records for the species are restricted to the southeastern coastal states of Brazil ( Martinelli & Zucchi 1997; Martinelli 2004). The species is considered questionable from Peru.
