REMARKS. The genus was originally distinguished by the four apical cells of the hind wings ( Stål 1862a). This is still a useful character to distinguish members of the genus and is an unique character in the Peruvian cicada fauna.

DISTRIBUTION. The genus has been reported previously only from Brazil ( Metcalf 1963c).
