REMARKS. Fidicina ethelae is a large species similar in size to F. robini Boulard & Martinelli, 1996 with a wingspan greater than 125 mm and is larger than both F. mannifera ( Fabricius, 1803) and F. obscura Boulard & Martinelli, 1996 . The species can be distinguished from the other Peruvian Fidicina by the male timbal cover extending below the metascutellar plate, the male operculum forms an approximate right triangle, the fore femora proximal and apical spines are angled with respect to the femoral axis, and the lateral branch of the uncus is recurved.

DISTRIBUTION. The species has been reported from Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela ( Metcalf 1963a; Sanborn 2013; 2014a; 2018b) with recent records expanding the distribution to include Bolivia ( Sanborn 2019b).
