REMARKS. This species is another of the group of Peruvian species that are of similar size and general morphology including C. dicrophryxothrix n. sp., C. dolosa , C. doxiptera , C. gemella , C. hamata , C. rumipataensis n. sp., C. socia , C. ventrilloni , and C. viridicata . This species can be distinguished from C. dolosa , C. doxiptera , C. rumipataensis n. sp., and C. ventrilloni by the straight rather than curved posterior margin of the operculum in these species. Carineta hamata is very similar in general appearance to C. dicrophryxothrix n. sp. but has a piceous stripe on the ventral abdominal midline and the basal lobe appendage terminates in one long and one short point. Finally, C. hamata can be distinguished from C. socia and C. viridicata by the lack of bronzing of the distal fore wings and longitudinal lines within of the fore wing apical cells in these species and the pygofer basal lobe appendage that is thin, crossing the midline and terminates in a single point or thick and terminating in a claw-like structure respectively in these species.

DISTRIBUTION. The species has been reported previously from Bolivia ( Sanborn 2019b).
