Carineta dolosa Boulard, 1986a View in CoL new record
Carineta dolosa Boulard 1986a: 419 View in CoL . (Oyapock, Saut-Mauripa Province, French Guiana)
REMARKS. This species is part of a group of species that are of similar size and general morphology including C. dicrophyrxothrix n. sp., C. dolosa , C. doxiptera , C. gemella , C. hamata , C. rumipataensis n. sp., C. socia , C. ventrilloni , and C. viridicata . Carineta dolosa can be distinguished from C. dicrophryxothrix n. sp., C. gemella , C. hamata , C. socia , and C. viridicata by the curved rather than straight posterior margin of the operculum in these species. Specimens of C. rumipataensis n. sp. can be distinguished by the finger-like medial extension to the operculum. The dark bronzing of the distal wings, the more acutely angled primary spine and the pygofer basal lobe appendage curving to the ipsilateral side and terminating in a V-shape distinguishes C. dolosa from C. doxiptera and C. ventrilloni .
DISTRIBUTION. The species has been reported previously from French Guiana ( Boulard 1986a; Sanborn 2011a) and Brazil ( Dorval et al. 2011).
