Carineta matura Distant, 1892b View in CoL new record
Carineta matura Distant 1892b: 321 View in CoL . ( Venezuela)
REMARKS. This is the third of the small to intermediate species with hyaline wings and mesothoracic markings. Carineta matura can be distinguished from C. cingenda by the absence of a transverse piceous fascia in the ambient fissure of the pronotum and from and C. congrua by the bent costal margin and piceous markings completely surrounding the lateral and submedian sigillae of the mesothorax in C. matura . Finally, C. matura can be distinguished from C. tetraspila by the prothoracic markings meeting on the midline in the ambient fissure and the piceous arch on the dorsal abdominal tergites in that species.
DISTRIBUTION. The species has been reported previously from Brazil and Venezuela ( Metcalf 1963c; Sanborn 2013).
