TYPE LOCALITY: USA, California, San Benito Co., Bear Valley, 1 mi (1.6 km) N Cook P.O., 1,300 ft. (396 m) .
DISTRIBUTION: WC California in San Benito and Monterey Cos. ( USA).
COMMENTS: May be conspecific with venustus ; see Stock (1974) and Schnell et al. (1978). Reviewed by Best (1986, Mammalian Species, 255).
