Type species: Cicada fusca Olivier, 1790 (= Dundubia picta Walker, 1870 ) (Sumatra).
Remarks. The Pomponia linearis species group was suggested by Duffels & Hayashi (2006) within the genus Pomponia with the following common characters: postclypeus with a broad pale transverse band; distal shoulder of pygofer sharply pointed; a pair of claspers, each with two spines, protruding below uncus.
Out of the Pomponia linearis species group, the Pomponia linearis species complex was suggested also by Duffels & Hayashi (2006) with the common character of paramedian and large basal lobes of pygofer.
Out of the seven species in the key below, six occur in Vietnam (missing Pomponia subtilita Lee, 2009 ), and three have been found in Cambodia: Pomponia linearis (Walker, 1850) , Pomponia backanensis , and Pomponia subtilita .
