It is a long-tongued horsefly. This species has Afrotropical and Palearctic affinity, recorded from the Democratic Republic of the Congo ( DRC) and Tanzania ( Ježek, 2017). This species was recorded from Saudi Arabia ( Amoudi, 1989).
