Philoliche omanensis View in CoL is an Afrotropical species. It was recorded in Oman, after Chainey (1983) has revised the genus Philoliche View in CoL . This species had been considered as a form of close relative P. beckeri Bezzi View in CoL ( Oldroyd 1957; Chainey & Oldroyd 1980). However, Chainey (1983) Justified description of P. omanensis View in CoL as a new and different from closely related species ( Philoliche beckeri View in CoL , Philoliche elongate (Ricardo 1908) , Philoliche flava Chainey 1983 View in CoL , Philoliche lautissima ( Austen 1920) View in CoL and Philoliche littoralis ( Oldroyd 1957) View in CoL depending on absence of intermediate forms between omanensis View in CoL and the other closely relatives, activity period, and distribution.
