Ancala latipes View in CoL is Afrotropical species, collected along watercourses like lakes and rivers ( Lewis 1953). It is distributed from Senegal to Sudan ( Oldroyd 1954). In the Arab countries of the Middle East, the species was recorded from Saudi Arabia ( Amoudi 1989). In Sudan, latipes View in CoL is incriminated in the mechanical transmission of trypanosomiasis ( Al-Kareem et al. 2012).
