Coreus gracilicornis Herrich-Schaeffer, 1835 : pl. 5 (as new species); Coreus gracilicornis Rambur, 1839: 132 (junior primary homonym); Arenocoris tibialis Westwood, 1842: 25 .
Distribution in Iran. Ardabil ( Hoberlandt 1989), East Azarbaijan ( Sadeghi et al. 2009; Khaghaninia et al. 2010a, b, 2011; Nikdel et al. 2011), Guilan ( Hosseini & Linnavuori 2002; Linnavuori 2007), Mazandaran ( Hoberlandt 1989), Zanjan ( Askari et al. 2009), northern Iran (no locality cited) ( Jakovlev 1877).
General distribution. Holo-Mediterranean, known from most of European countries (except the extreme north), North Africa, Near East and Transcaucasia.
Comments. On Fabaceae and Lamiaceae ( Linnavuori 2007) , Cirsium spp. ( Khaghaninia et al. 2011). Also, out of Iran was recorded on Celastraceae , Fagaceae , Rhamnaceae , and Rosaceae ( Moulet 1995) .
