Diagnosis. Female differs from those of other species by the combination of the following characters: flagellomere 1 3.0–3.1 times as long as wide, spines of tarsal comb flattened, plantula rounded apically, ocellar triangle 100°, tergum 1 black, terga with light-grayish pubescence. Male differs from those of other species by the combination of the following characters: hypopygium nearly flat and uniformly hirsute ventrally ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 9–28 ), its apical margin slightly concave or straight ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 9–28 ), volsella lanceolate ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 9–28 ).

Material examined. Type material. Lectotype, ♀ (see above) [ MNHU]. GoogleMaps Additional material. Kyrgyzstan: 2 ♀, Zaalai Mt. Ridge, Berk-Su gorge, 3300 m, 39°26'N 72°02'E, 12.VII.1995 (S.L. Zonstein); GoogleMaps 2 ♀, Zaalai Mt. Ridge, Berk-Su gorge, 2600 m, 39°28'N 72°01'E, 9.VII.1995 (S.L. Zonstein). Tajikistan: GoogleMaps 2 ♂, Alai Mountain ridge, southern slope, Karamyk pass, 3100 m, 13.VIII.1985 (E. Budris) [ ZISP] GoogleMaps .

Distribution. Turkey ( Yildirim & Wahis 2011), Iran ( Enayatnia et al. 2018), Afghanistan ( Wolf 1970), Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan ( Zonstein 2000).

Remarks. The type series of Psammochares pamirus Haupt, 1930 consists of three specimens (syntypes) ( Haupt 1930a) of which 2 ♀ belong to this species and 1 ♂ belongs to Arachnospila (Arachnospila) sogdiana koenigsmanni Wolf, 1970 (= Arachnospila (Arachnospila) sogdiana ( Morawitz, 1893)) . H. Wolf (1970: 72) listed examined material on Psammochares pamirus Haupt, 1930 , including 1 ♀ from the type series. None of the above mentions of a type or lectotype fulfil the relevant Code requirements (Articles 74.3, 74.5 and 74.6 (ICZN 1999)), and I therefore hereby designate the same specimen formally as the lectotype.
