Type locality.

Petersburg, Dinwiddie County, Virginia, USA. Type stratum: Yorktown Formation. Age: Late Miocene to Middle Pliocene.

Type material.

Syntypes, ANSP IP1520, 1 shell, ANSP IP79385, 1 shell (lost, not found in the vial).

Taxonomical reassessment.

This species is better classified in the genus Odostomia due to the following conchological features ( Robba 2013): verall ovate-conical shell with moderately convex whorls, suture with a blunt subsutural margin, slit-like umbilicus, and prominent columellar fold.
