Osteocephalus oophagus Jungfer and Schiesari, 1995 View in CoL
Known from nearby Colombia in Departamento de Guanía ( Lynch and Vargas-Ramírez 2000) and Guyana ( Kok and Kalamandeen 2008; Jungfer et al. 2013). It is similar to Osteocephalus taurinus View in CoL in shape and iris coloration, but is much smaller. Examining O. taurinus or O. leprieurii samples in Venezuelan collections may lead to the recognition of this species in Venezuela.
