Pupa of Stenichnus godarti View in CoL
The living pupa was studied, and therefore observations were made only briefly, to minimize any manipulations and avoid desiccation or mechanical damage; consequently the description is incomplete.
The pupa of St. godarti was initially creamy white, but three days before emergence of adult it darkened and became light brown, with the abdomen slightly lighter, whereas eyes, mandibles, apices of femora and bases of tibiae were distinctly darker; also distal portions of elytra turned grayish. Nearly entire body of pupa sparsely covered with asperities, which are well-visible because of slightly darker pigmentation than surrounding cuticle. The head between eyes with a pair of short bristles; the pronotum bears one anterior and one posterior pair of long and curved bristles and additionally several pairs of short bristles dorsally; each abdominal segment bears one pair of long lateral bristles.
