Neoparaphytoseius View in CoL belongs to the sub-family Amblyseiinae Muma , Tribe Kampimodromini Kolodochka . The genus is mainly characterised by the following character states: dorsal shield seta S 4 absent; seta z 4 short; setae j 3, s 4, Z 4 and Z 5 elongate, greatly thickened, strongly serrated, arising from tubercles; dorsal shield smooth, lateral margin with or without incision at level of setae s 4, and with posterior margin rounded; leg IV with three strong macrosetae; spermatheca with calyx cup- or funnel-shaped (Chant & McMutrry, 2003).
