Currently only Microhypnus striatulus (LeConte) , known from the northeastern US and eastern Canada, is placed in this genus (Stibick 1991). Kishii (1976) noted how to distinguish this genus from the related genus Migiwa Kishii, 1966 . The specimens from Glacier Co. were collected in a bee bowl and differ from M. striatulus by the shape of the pronotum and male genitalia. These specimens likely represent one of the undescribed species in western North America mentioned by Stibick (1991). This genus requires revision.
