Athoplastus Johnson and Etzler, 2018 (in Etzler and Johnson 2018).
This genus was proposed by Johnson (1992) and includes species formerly placed in Ctenicera Latreille, 1829 and Aplastus Knull, 1946 . The only Montana species, Athoplastus acutus (Knull) , occurs on the west side of the state in forested habitats and was first collected by D. L. Gustafson in 1995, with associated males first collected in 2015 by FEE. Females were collected by pitfall traps and males were collected at a UV light in the early spring. Males have also been collected using Lindgren funnel traps.
