TYPE LOCALITY: Mexico, Jalisco, Zapotlân (= Ciudad Guzmân), 4,000 ft. (1,219 m) .
DISTRIBUTION: S and C Jalisco and NE Michoacan ( Mexico).
SYNONYMS: imparilis Goldman, russelli Genoways and Jones, tellus Russell.
COMMENTS: Subgenus Cratogeomys . Polytypic; subspecies reviewed by Russell (1968b).
