DISTRIBUTION: NC Costa Rica (see Hafner and Hafner, 1987; Hafner, 1991).
SYNONYMS: carlosensis Goodwin, costaricensis Merriam.
COMMENTS: Subgenus Macrogeomys . Revised by Goodwin (1946).
