TYPE LOCALITY: " Jamaica " restricted by King (1956) to "Pedro Cays, 80 km. south of Jamaica " .
DISTRIBUTION: Caribbean Sea and Yucatan.
STATUS: CITES - Appendix I; U.S. ESA - Endangered; IUCN - Extinct?.
SYNONYMS: antillarum Gray, 1849.
COMMENTS: "Extinct since the early 1950's" ( Kenyon, 1977).
