TYPE LOCALITY: "dans les montagnes qui séparent le Boutan de l'Indoustan."
DISTRIBUTION: Widespread in China; ranges from Assam ( India) and Burma to Indochina, Thailand, Sumatra, and probably Perak in Malaya.
SYNONYMS: albogularis Blyth, 1853 ; consul Pocock, 1940; dictator Thomas, 1910 ; isonyx Horsfield, 1856 ; leucolaemus Milne-Edwards, 1867 ; obscurus Milne-Edwards, 1871 ; taraiyensis Hodgson, 1863; taxoides Blyth, 1853 .
