TYPE LOCALITY: "Tjibodas, West Java, 5500'"; identified by Van Bree and Boeadi (1978) as " 6°44'S 107°00'E " GoogleMaps .
DISTRIBUTION: Indonesia (Java, Sumatra).
STATUS: IUCN - Insufficiently known.
COMMENTS: Revised by Van Bree and Boeadi (1978). Ellerman and Morrison-Scott (1966) implied, and Novikov (1956) and Corbet (1978c) believed lutreolina and sibirica conspecific; however this has not been supported by primary studies ( Van Bree and Boeadi, 1978). Youngman (1982) placed lutreolina in the subgenus Lutreola .
